APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS
Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapist’s day that could have been filled by another patient in need, and the therapist loses income. As such, a minimum of twenty four (24) hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment is required. Patients who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged the full session fee regardless of the reason. Missed or late cancelled appointments are not eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefits as insurance providers only cover services that are attended. As such, these fees are the full responsibility of the client.
Exceptions may be made in the case of genuine emergencies (e.g. you or a loved one in your care require immediate medical attention/hospitalization, severe acute signs of infectious disease, a death in your immediate family, a natural disaster or extreme incliment weather has occured), but this needs to be discussed with your therapist to make a determination. Exceptions will not be made for preventable things including (but not limited to) scheduling/work conflicts, forgetting about appointments, inability to obtain childcare for in-person sessions, or failure to organize transportation to in-person appointments. Clients will be given the opportunity to move any in-person session to a virtual session if childcare or transportation is an issue.
In the event that the therapist or client becomes ill with less than 24 hours notice, clients will be given the opportunity to convert any in-person booking to a phone or virtual session instead to avoid having to pay the late cancellation fee.
SOCIAL MEDIA ENGAGEMENT
Therapists at Aspire Therapeutics do participate on various social networks for personal and marketing purposes. If clients also have an online presence, there is a possibility that they may encounter their therapist’s account. Please be aware that in an effort to adhere to the highest ethical standards, our therapists do not communicate with, engage with, contact, like, friend, or follow any of their clients through any social media or networking platforms; included but not limited to: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, Instagram, and Pinterest. Communication through social media platforms for the purposes of scheduling, re-scheduling, or changing appointments will not be responded to.
Additionally, if your therapist does discover that they have accidentally established an online or social-media relationship with a client, they will immediately disconnect from that relationship. This is due to the significant psychological risk these types of casual social contacts can create for clients. Privacy and confidentiality cannot be guaranteed on social media platforms, and social media communications with clients have a high potential to compromise the professional relationship.
