(She/her)
Hello and welcome, I’m so glad you are here!
I have been a registered massage therapist (RMT) going on 18 years, graduating from the Victoria Campus of West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2005. I completed my Bachelor of Health Science from Thompson Rivers University in 2017, and shortly after, was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis which forced me to reconsider my long-term professional goals. I thought deeply about what profession would be the right fit for me, and I realized that the most meaningful part of my massage therapy sessions was bearing witness to my clients’ stories of struggle, growth, loss, and resilience. I felt connected to them and our shared humanity in a very profound way. I felt so honored that my clients felt safe enough to share their vulnerable inner worlds, and it was in this that I recognized that feeling seen and heard is a fundamental part of our physical healing. My work and life experiences have taught me that the body, mind, and spirit are intricately connected and cannot be separated from one another.
I completed my Master of Counselling Psychology at City University in 2021 and embarked on a journey as a counsellor. I completed my internship at Amira Health where I provided virtual counselling support for a variety of people from all walks of life. I am an active member in good standing of both the College of Massage Therapists of B.C. (CMTBC) and the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
Throughout the years, I have focused my career on providing safe, nurturing, and evidence-based therapeutic care for individuals before, during and beyond the childbearing years. I love supporting people on their journey into parenthood. I love both of my professional roles, and I enjoy building meaningful therapeutic connections, non-judgmentally supporting others, and learning! I have completed post graduate training in perinatal mood disorders, high risk pregnancy, caesarian care, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and breast/chest surgery recovery. Currently, I am pursuing Gottman couple’s therapy levels 1 and 2.
I am fortunate to have grown up in Greater Victoria and, along with my husband, have lived in the West Shore for nearly twenty years. I acknowledge that I am a settler who is privileged to live, work and play on the unceded traditional lands of the W̱SÁNEĆ and Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples. I believe that being outside in nature is one of the most healing things we can do for ourselves, so in my leisure time, I can be found hiking or beach combing with my sweet rescue pup Luna, cycling, cooking or relaxing in the garden with a good fantasy or sci-fi audio book
Luna
Always happy to make new friends, sweet miss Luna welcomes massage and counselling clients. She loves to give kisses, shake a paw or high five, and is usually found snoozing on the floor beside the treatment table or the couch. Virtual counselling clients sometimes get glimpses of Luna sniffing or dreaming in the background!
